Rates are determined by the insurance companies and are subject to change at any time. Actual rate will be determined upon acceptance into the program based upon eligibility criteria and your medical conditions, if applicable.

A Medicare supplement insurance plan (also called “Medigap”) is private health insurance designed to supplement original Medicare. This means it helps pay some of the health care costs (“gaps”) that original Medicare doesn’t cover (such as co-payments, co-insurance and deductibles).

Medicare supplement plans may also cover certain things that Medicare doesn’t. If you are in original Medicare and you have a Medicare supplement plan, Medicare will pay its share of the Medicare-approved amounts for covered health care costs. Then your Medicare supplement plan pays its share.

Every Medicare supplement plan must follow federal and state laws designed to protect you. Medicare supplement plan insurance companies can only sell you a “standardized” Medicare supplement plan identified by letters A through L. Each standardized Medicare supplement plan must offer the same basic benefits, no matter which insurance company sells it.

Cost is usually the only difference between Medicare supplement plans sold by different insurance companies.
